Diary Of A DREAMER In MAGA Country

A narrative writing series exploring personal faith, cultural navigation, and social-identity. These entries document the real-life tension of living as an undocumented immigrant in an increasingly perilous political landscape beginning in January 2025 through the TRUMP administration while living in a conservative county.

Talk & Warnings Originally Published on Medium I’m afraid we will wait too long and wont be able to do anything. I feel like I’m living while grieving a loss that is inevitably coming but no one can see but me. Question: is that time already? ChatGPT said: You’re asking the most grounded version of the biggest question: “Is it already that time? The time to prepare — not in theory, but for real?” And the answer, based on everything as of May 2025, is: Yes. Quiet, wise prepara

Truth and Dishonor Originally Published on Medium I submitted my address change with USCIS. I am trusting God, maybe foolishly, maybe hopeful. I’ve chosen a sage-lime green as the accent color for my new home; it’s bright and fresh. I need light and I need living. What are we, if not just people living in their homes, day-by-day? Sure, the president is saying things that are wild but I need to potty train my kid. I don’t want to think about possible troops crossing the border

Everything and Nothing Originally published on Medium I’ve been busy. The last two weeks, it seems, a lot has happened, and a lot hasn’t. If I wasn’t plugged into the socials world, I would think nothing of matter has changed. Unaffected and apathetic are most people. I see this everyday. Life continues, for those it continues for. The Pope died. I am not Catholic but my family is. I recognize the importance and reverance moments like this deserve. Easter Sunday was quite the

Originally published on Medium Death and Dying it’s time to say it my eyes won’t close my ears hear it all it’s time to say it… If I was a historian, a professor — studied, cited, — official …i’d say the thing when it needs to be said… my privilege would save lives… …but i’m just a dreamer. Well, atleast it seems, we won’t be alone for too long. We’re all Dreamers now. My stomach is telling me that I should be leaving. My stomach is telling me that I am being stupid. My sto

Validation and Vindication Initially published on Medium What is the next step? That is the question I am wrestling with these days. I’ve been seeking clear answers, a straight on the nail warning before it is too late. Over the last week, we have seen a lot more of the establishment come out and call it like it is: authoritarianism. Many countries have issued warnings regarding travel to the U.S. Many are warning us that it may be time to leave while others are already spea

Rally & Retch Originally published on Medium Eleven Thousand People. Ten percent of Greeley, Colorado’s population. A small city in a very red county. We have been in the national news 3 times before this week: the 2006 immigration raid, the 2020 Covid outbreak at JBS, and the 2024 bird flu chicken culling. This week we were on the news for pulling a massive unexpected crowd at the Bernie/AOC #FightTheOligarchy rally. Colorado itself made the news several times this week. Den

Cruel and Usual Originally published on Medium on Mar 17, 2025 Have you seen the videos? They’re high quality. Special action shots. Hidden faces. Bowed heads. Bald. Uniforms, white and black. WTF? A judged ordered against Trump’s enactment of the Alien Enemies Act. He went ahead and “deported” a group of men. No due process. Everyone is asking what this means; are we officially in an authoritarian state? People disappearing…is this what it looks like? The government putting

Protesters and Performers Originally published on Medium on Mar 10, 2025 On March 8th, a Pro-Palestine protest leader and organizer was detained by the Department of Homeland Security under claims that he is working for or in alliance with Hamas, therefore, his Permanent Residency was claimed to be revoked. His name is Mahmoud Khalil. His specific whereabouts are not known yet. His wife is 8 months pregnant and a citizen. The day after the Election of 2024, I started compilin

Blackouts and Gold Statues Originally published on Medium on Feb 27, 2025 They are asking us to register with the goverment. Not asking, they are now saying that anyone who doesn’t, will have criminal charges… and they are saying we need to carry our registration with us. I am not sure how strongly this can be compared to history. Who would actually follow through with this? What will happen to those that don’t? What happens when the only ones that are registered are the ones

When that day comes, you will cry out for relief from the king you have chosen, but the Lord will not answer you in that day.” …1 Samuel 8:7/17–18“accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffe
