I got to have my poster contest entry shown next to all of the awesome art for this show! All of the poster designs were so awesome! Go check out the Tointon Gallery and the Arts Picnic this weekend!

My very first Art Show!!!

I absolutely love this community of artists and amazing people who are all so incredibly nice and supportive! I was so nervous and a bit awkward but it was so cool and i got away with a ton of cool art too!! All of the art was sooo cool and omg, some people are soo good, I am always in awe! There are also a ton of artists always showcased at the Armory so you can go check them out in person!

I feel so joyful right now! 🥹

I feel so light today.

I've had a running theme of overwhelm over the last year with so much going on and soo many things to manage. But today, I spent several hours just laying on the couch with the hubs and my cat napping on one side and my baby jumping around pretending to be a tadpole on the other as we watched videos about frogs and we just relaxed. I wasn't itching to go get a task done...wasn't thinking about anything but the tadpoles...

We've had a lot going on this year and I feel like this week a ton of things are just settling down. My kids evaluation and health issues have an action plan, schooling is set up, potty training down. I got all my art stuff made and setup and I got to do my first show. Plants are in the ground. Bills paid. Birthdays & summer planned. Boundaries set. Brain camp coming up.

It's really nice to just sit with time and let it be, life is good...and...

I was just thinking, earlier in the week as i was trying to get myself to nap, about how often we all just wish to live some abstract simpler life like off-grid or a small town or a place without appliances and to do lists etc and there's this idea that if we just had a simpler life, the anxieties of life would be easier to handle...

but the reality is that, life is life regardless.

Dishes and laundry and potty training and work exist in some form in all types of living. Aside from the more laborious nature of simple living, I would want to fill my days with art and movement and purpose and relationships regardless of how far away from this life i would be. All of the things that make life worthy take time and effort and obligations and thought and even overwhelm and frustration. I would need to learn how to manage these feelings no matter what.

I am learning how to manage the good life that I know I do have right now, not some future perfect image that I run away to when I feel stressed and overwhelmed but a reality that exists right here, right now in the mess and the clutter and group chats and appts and YouTube videos and annoying oven fans and alarms.

I know that I feel better when I remember this message.

And... I know I just need constant reminders! Lol
